Lucy's Puppy Party

Lucy turned two last week and I am still trying to recover from all the celebrations. I don't know what I'm going to do when the girls actually have significant birthdays like sweet sixteen if this is what a two year old birthday does to me. I love making my girls feel special so even though Lucy will look back and have no recollection of this day, I hope when she sees these pictures she knows how much I loved her tiny two year old self.

We chose a puppy theme because puppies have been one of Lucy's greatest obsessions this past year. She gets so excited every time she sees a dog, dying to go over and pet every single one. She has a puppy she sleeps with every night and loves to pretend to be a puppy when her and Sophia are playing family. It's the cutest. We re-created Garvin & Co's puppy party because I needed something easy to save my "Mom of three three-and-under" self. I really need to learn to nap when the baby naps because simply put, the struggle is real these days. Although it wasn't quite as perfect as the original, it was a cute enough party for celebrating with our family on a Wednesday evening. The most important thing was that Lucy felt loved and there was no shortage of that.

We enjoyed lots of eating, family time, singing and playing. She was spoiled with lots of fun gifts, including a slide and bubble machine which were the biggest hit of the night. The kids had so much fun. When it came time for cake, she looked happily overwhelmed by everyone singing to her. She kept her head mostly down, trying not to smile too big from all the attention. Everyone cheered for her after she blew out the candles and it made my whole night seeing how good that made her feel. We love our Lucy girl and she continues to be a constant source of light and laughter in our family. Happy 2nd birthday my darling girl!
