Cathedral Park

I'm no Portland tour guide but if there's one place I'd recommend to anyone visiting who likes to take pictures, go to Cathedral Park. The St John's Bridge is surely one of the prettiest in town and the park underneath although small makes for a perfect picnic location and place for your kids to burn energy. I wanted some pictures with my girls so we headed down there one afternoon to do just that. We took advantage of the top platform under the bridge being empty before heading down to the bottom for our snacks. The staircase alone could have entertained the girls for an hour. I practically had to drag them back to the car, reminding them that good listeners would get an ice cream on the way home. We ran into a man in the park with a snake and they thought that was pretty neat. Lucy makes the funniest "ooo ooo ooo" sound when she sees something that fascinates her and it's usually about 5 octaves lower than her normal voice. I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head when she realized it wasn't a toy. I can't wait to see what she's like when we take her to the zoo.
