Springtime in Portland

The cherry blossoms in Portland are a sight to see. I knew they were going to be gone soon so I packed up the girls and headed downtown, feeling slightly crazy going on this adventure solo. When I get my mind set on something I will not let anything slow me down and I'm sure glad this was one of those times. We had the best day exploring Portland, just the four of us. We started at the Japanese pavilion on the waterfront where the nicest stranger offered to take some pictures for us. I wish I could thank her again after seeing the picture she got because I love having that moment of the girls and I captured forever. I do not get enough pictures with my tiny girl gang.

From the waterfront we hustled from shop to shop to find a bathroom because nature calls (Sophia) and despite how cute her little squirmy pee wiggle was, I didn't want her wetting herself on the streets of Portland. We took care of business and then walked over to Voodoo Doughnut to get a treat. They earned them after all. I love all the pink at Voodoo and their elaborate flavors of doughnuts. Sophia insisted she needed the one with the "rainbow cheerios" and I convinced Lucy to get the "dolly." Mine was vicious hibiscus and I would highly recommend it. I'm usually more of a Blue Star girl but these totally hit the spot. I give credit to good listening kids, lots of warm sunshine and the street music that had us dancing. When I thought the day couldn't get any better Sophia took my hand as we walked and said "hey Mom, I need to tell you something -- I love you." Make my day times one million. There's nothing I love hearing more than that.
